My ant friends got me exited (or was it lack of sleep and itch) to find more animal friends. This day was about the animals. When leaving the nice city of Grafton I dropped by the Post and former Australia National Bank office. Beautiful architecture that has been kept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The road from Grafton to Coffs Harbour was perfect for a bike ride. A mix of straigths and nice bends but also up and down. In Coffs Harbour I stayed for lunch by the beach and watch the surfers concuering the waves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What suits better than Coopers beer battered fish and chips, mushy pies, sallad, dill aioli and a Coopers sparkling ale at Latitude 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The roads from Coffs Harbour going south are nice if you manage to keep on the tourist route. Not well signed. Giinagay way is the way, also signed as Pacific Hwy which is also what the motorway A1 is called. Confusing? Yes, I would say so. First animal encounter was pelicans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I wanted to avoid motorways at any cost I once again ended up on a gravel road. This time I turned around. It costed me 50 km extra riding, but look what I found. My theory of having a loud bike will keep you safer got confirmed. These kangaroos were sleeping next to the road, just where the bike is parked in the picture. They jumped up and in to the shade. Sorry roo\u2019s!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not the best picture, but there they are. So it was worth the detour. After 300 km and about 6 hours with stops I reached Port Macquarie. I had a quick swim in the ocean and gave the Beast a bath too. Tomorrow we will shine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
