I really wanted to go to a jazz club in Sydney. I found a few places that seemed worth going to. I tried to book tickets online, but no luck so I called the club to see if they were fully booked. No answer. I decide to go and knock on the door anyway. Surprisingly they called back and confirmed it was ok to come.

I arrived at the club Foundry 616 after I shared an Uber taxi with two carneval-dressed girls. It was Mardi Gras festival and parad the same night. I arrived one hour before the show and to get a table you needed to order food and drinks. I had coldcut meats and wine. I thought I would be smart and order a bottle of wine instead of a few glasses believing that it would be cheaper. It turned out that the cost was the same as 5 glasses which is normally what you will be able to squeeze out from one bottle. Smart or not the bottle was empty before the night was over.
Carlotta Centanni sang beautiful jazz in Italian. The table next to me probably felt sorry for me sitting alone and they asked me to join them. They were friends with Carlotta and when she had finished she and her band joined us for a few drinks. A good night.
