It takes about two to three hours from Sydney city to reach Blue Mountains on the bike. If….. you don’t run into trouble….
Oh yes, I ran into trouble. I truck driver stopped next to me at a traffic light and shouted something to me ”You have a nail in your tyre”. Oh, no, brand new tyres and I had got a puncture. I pulled over as soon as I could and started to call all tyre companies in the area. A nice Kylie at one of these companies suggested a tyre company for motorcycles.
As the Beast is equipped with a customised extra wide rim for the rear tyre, it is not just to take wheel off. Oh no, the camshat needs to go aswell. After 90 minutes repairs the bike was ready to go again.
Blue Mountains was very beautiful. If I hadn’t been delayed I would have walked on the nice tracks. Instead I was driving around to gain time.
Before I returned back to Sydney it was “beer a clock” and time for a Coopers red. Hotel Alex in Leura was suggested by the locals and it was a nice “waterhole”.
