The trip from Sussex Inlet started with rain. Not too bad as it may sound. It lasted for 5 minutes and before you know it you are dry again. The ride offered some really nice roads especially after Tilba on the tourist drive.

Before that I visited Pretty beach where you can see kangaroos on the beach if you come early in the morning. I did not. I had to go in to the bush to find them.

Casey beach, Narooma and all the beaches in this area have turqouise water. It is very tempting to take a swim.

Fresh oysters are advertised everywher and oyster farms can be found in Narooma, Merimbula to name a few.

After four hours riding I reached Merimbula. Merimbula features a boardwalk along the water and the oyster farms.

After I had walked the boardwalk I was hungry and I found out that there was a tropical punch evening at Dulcie’s cottage. They are known for hamburgers and cocktails.

Dulcie’s is like a rebuilt villa and a caravan in the garden where they cook the burgers. The burger I had was perfect. The selection of beer was also to my satisfaction. I sat down with some locals who explained that this was the place to go to on a Saturday night. They all came from different towns around Merimbula. I also got the gossip about the other locals and the announced international deejay. It appears he had been to New Zealand.

I had a great night and the locals were really welcoming. Merimbula, you have a place in my heart. I hope I will be back one day.
